Open Fashion Review

Editorial policy

Open Fashion Review aims to make fashion and clothing easier to understand without making claims beyond what the subject supports. We value accurate descriptions, clear distinctions between fact and interpretation, and visible corrections when we get something wrong.

Accuracy and care

We check names, dates, garment terminology and other factual details against reliable material appropriate to the subject. We take care not to present a general observation as a rule for every garment, material or wearer. When an article offers an interpretation of style or meaning, it should be recognisable as interpretation rather than settled fact.

Independence and interests

Editorial decisions are made for the publication's readers. Any relevant connection that could affect how a piece is understood should be disclosed with that piece. Payment or a commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable view or editorial approval.

Corrections and updates

If you spot a factual error or unclear passage, please use the Contact page and identify the article and detail. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted. Significant changes should be made clear in the article so readers can understand what changed.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or partner-supported material is clearly identified where it appears and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. Any partner placement is labelled so readers can tell it is a commercial arrangement. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where used, they are identified as AI-generated and are not presented as documentary photographs.
